In 2013 during a business planning session with a Privately owned tech company, the old business saying “How do you eat an elephant?” came up, to which the conventional answer is “one tiny piece at a time” meaning that large daunting problems are best tackled bit by bit.
The alternative answer in that session was “between two enormous pieces of bread!”. Not only did this amuse the team but also was similar to the preferred business planning process we were applying. Our mantra is tackling the big issues head-on together and the name Elephant Sandwich was born.
